Day One: Learning the Craft
The programme began with practical training led by The GelBottle Academy. Students completed a Gel Polish Beginners Course, gaining first-hand experience with professional products, techniques and industry best practice.
Throughout the day, participants learned the fundamentals of professional gel manicures, including nail preparation, hygiene, gel polish application and removal techniques, as well as product knowledge and finishing skills.
By the end of the two day session, each student had achieved a recognised beginner gel qualification, providing them with a valuable industry-accredited skill and an introduction to a potential career path within the nail sector.
Day Two: Exploring Careers Beyond the Salon
The second day focused on the wider beauty industry and the many career opportunities available beyond hands-on treatment roles.
Students attended a “Meet the Team” careers panel featuring professionals from across The GelBottle’s business, including education, marketing, social media, brand and creative teams. The panel offered insight into individual career journeys and demonstrated how a modern beauty brand operates from concept through to consumer.
Participants then took part in an interactive campaign challenge centred around The GelBottle’s latest collection, Gelly. Working in teams, students developed launch concepts, mood boards and marketing ideas before presenting their campaigns back to the team for feedback.
Inspiring Future Talent
As a Patron of the British Beauty Council, The Gel Bottle Inc continues to support initiatives that help educate, inspire and champion future talent. Camilla Saunders, PR & Brand Ambassador Manager at The GelBottle Inc, said:
“Hosting the Futures for All careers experience programme alongside the British Beauty Council was a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of beauty talent. Across two days, students gained hands-on industry experience, achieved a beginner gel qualification and explored the wide range of career opportunities available within beauty beyond the salon floor.
The enthusiasm and creativity shown by the students was truly inspiring, and we were proud to provide an experience for them to learn, grow and discover new possibilities within the industry. As a British Beauty Council Patron, supporting future talent and increasing awareness of the diverse career pathways within beauty is something we’re incredibly passionate about.”
Programmes such as this are designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, giving young people direct access to industry professionals, real-world experience and a clearer understanding of the opportunities available within the beauty sector.
The Council continues to work with Futures for All and our patrons to deliver work placements, both in person and online, as part of our ongoing Education strategy.
