WALES: Circuit-Breaker Lockdown

The Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford, and the Cabinet, met today to make the final decision on a circuit-breaker lockdown.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced that Wales will be introducing a two-week “firebreak”, to slow down COVID-19. The ‘fire break’ will begin from 6pm Friday 23rd October, and end on 9th November.

 

Under these new government restrictions, all non-essential retail, leisure and hospitality will be closed for the 17 days, from Friday at 6pm. These closures include close-contact services like hairdressers and beauticians.

 

Drakeford has announced a series of financial measures to help businesses through this ‘fire break’; all businesses being told to close can also access support from the UK government.
