THE POWER OF BEAUTY

5–11 September 2022

Celebrate the “Power of Beauty” at British Beauty Week

The British Beauty Council is calling on beauty businesses to join it in celebrating the “power of beauty” in September for its annual British Beauty Week.

Millie Kendall, CEO, of the British Beauty Council, says: “The beauty industry has the ability to change lives and transform Britain’s economic and social fabric. We want everyone to celebrate that fact. Whether it’s workshops, giveaways, offers and talks, all week or day events – we want the British Beauty Week logo to be seen in windows and on websites across the breadth and depth of the UK to galvanise both the industry and shoppers alike.”

“Many people have in the past underestimated the power of beauty. But if the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that our industry is at the heart of every community. It brings people together, it boosts confidence and wellbeing, and it provides an enormous contribution to the UK’s GDP. This is all something to celebrate.”

The Council is encouraging brands, retailers, salons, charities and e-commerce platforms, of all sizes to create engaging initiatives for the five-day event running from 5 September 2022, to demonstrate to the public, business leaders and policymakers the power of beauty.

All successful applicants will be given access to British Beauty Week assets and they will be listed on the British Beauty Week website and promoted via social media. And it’s free to participate. Download an application form or the event criteria from the British Beauty Week website. Once you have completed the application form, send it to bbw@britishbeautycouncil.com for consideration.

Since its inception three years ago, the British Beauty Council has proven itself the champion of the beauty industry, providing support to hundreds of thousands of workers (of which 88% are women). This included winning an extra £500m of government-backed support during the pandemic.

In 2022, one of the Council’s key focuses will be using its positive influence to affect change and cultivate industry investment. British Beauty Week is just one of the many positive-impact activations the Council will be supporting this year to spotlight the value and power of beauty at a government level.
