What is future talent?

The British Beauty Council is dedicated to ensuring clear and diverse beauty career pathways are promoted to young people. Through this work it aims to maintain a continuous flow of new talent into the sector which will maintain the UK beauty industry’s global reputation at the cutting edge of innovation.


The first campaign is dedicated to STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). The British Beauty Council and STEM Learning are collaborating to develop the first dedicated beauty-related resource for secondary schools, showcasing and demonstrating the enriching careers across the beauty and STEM sector.

Spanning cosmetic science, fragrance, sustainability and technology, the highly anticipated Future Talent films are a key touchpoint for young people interested a career in beauty and STEM.

Featuring influential voices within beauty including Jamie Genevieve, Plastic Boy and The Welsh Twins, the short films are explore enriching careers while also engaging young people.

Do you have what it takes to be a STEM Ambassador?

The British Beauty Council welcomes dynamic individuals and brand representatives with job roles across STEM subjects to become ambassadors for the programme. This is an exciting opportunity for passionate beauty professionals to play a role in nurturing the future of the industry while also gaining wider professional skills and job satisfaction. 

Becoming a STEM Ambassador is simple thanks to STEM Learning’s digital onboarding:

  1. Register online: Go to stem.org.uk/register and select STEM Ambassador.
  2. Connect with your local STEM Ambassador hub: Once registered your local hub will become your main point of contact.
  3. Online induction: Find out what to expect from becoming a STEM Ambassador.
  4. Apply for a free DBS or PVG check: Essential for working with young people, this will include an ID check at your local hub.
  5. Start volunteering!
