About the Virtual Summit

 

Hear from Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, and guests as they discuss the work on the London’s recovery so far, and launch a new way for Londoners to get involved.

 

As a city London is facing the most challenging period in recent history – there is a need to restore confidence, minimise the impact on London’s most vulnerable and rebuild the city’s economy and society.

 

This exciting event included:

  • A speech by Mayor Sadiq Khan on the vision for the future of the city
  • A conversation led by Leader of Camden Council and Chair of London Councils, Georgia Gould, with:
  • A live Q and A where viewers submitted questions to the Mayor and panel
  • The launch of a newly redesigned Talk London website, where Londoners found out how they can get involved in the recovery work
  • The launch of a new campaign calling for Londoners to share their ideas for revitalising their neighbourhoods

London is facing its most challenging time in recent historyThe pandemic has disrupted everyone’s lives in unimaginable ways. It has had a huge economic, health and social impact on the city hitting some communities harder than others. 

 

A better future is possibleIt will take all of us working togetherCity Halllocal councils, the NHS, businesses, universities, charities, trade unions, community and faith groups and all Londoners. These groups have come together to build London’s plans for recovery from the pandemic and together have set out nine bold missions to restore confidence in our city and make London greener, fairer and safer than ever before. 

 

The 9 missions are: High Streets for All, A Green New Deal, Building Strong Communities, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Good Work for Londoners, Digital Access for All, A New Deal for Young People, Healthy Food, Healthy Weight, and A Robust Safety Net.
