Career Insights: Charlotte Mensah speaks with Elizabeth Barnett Lawton

The British Beauty Council have released Career Insights Episode 3: Charlotte Mensah, which is available to listen to now on ACAST, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Charlotte Mensah has been an industry insider for over 30 years and is famed for her flair for embracing natural hair textures, is an award winning hairstylist and is the owner of The Hair Lounge on London’s Portobello Road.

 

Charlotte Mensah is at the forefront of creative Afro Styling in the UK and has received numerous accolades for her contribution to  the world of hair and business. Most recently, Charlotte was inducted into the British Hairdressing Awards Hall Of Fame after having winning Best Afro Hairdresser of the Year three times. As a leader in the natural haircare movement, Charlotte’s salon has become a destination for people with natural afro, mixed and curly textured hair.

 

With her unrivalled Afro hair expertise, creating her very own product line was the next natural step, leading to the creation of the Charlotte Mensah Manketti Oil Hair Care Collection.

 

‘Good Hair: The Essential Guide to Afro, Textured and Curly Hair’ is Charlotte’s debut book, published in 2020, which features case studies of clients, dispels common hair myths, provides useful tools and knowledge, and is informed by Charlotte’s story from apprentice to business-owner.
