In 2026, the Great British Beauty Clean Up reached 16 million and saw over 55 brands and retailers participating, including Holland & Barrett, The Boots Group, L’Occitane en Provence, Elemis and Selfridges, as well as recycling specialists MYGroup, who partnered with the British Beauty Council on a dedicated beauty take-back scheme for hard-to-recycle beauty packaging.
Running since 2020, the ENBA is an independent body dedicated to recognising the best natural beauty products, raw ingredients and sustainable packaging in Europe. Its founder, Satu Mäkinen, seeks to challenge greenwashing and misleading marketing, equip consumers with the information needed to make informed choices, and support sustainability-forward brands.
The ENBA Voice of the Year Award “honours passionate individuals, teams and platforms making a meaningful contribution to the natural beauty and wellness sphere.”
Speaking of the campaign, Victoria Brownlie MBE, Chief of Policy & Sustainability at the British Beauty Council and Chair of the Sustainable Beauty Council said:
The Beauty Clean Up is a campaign we’re extremely passionate about as it’s central to the purpose of the Coalition – helping the industry to work more collaboratively to find solutions to issues they cannot solve alone. We’re therefore delighted that it’s cutting through and growing in terms of visibility and voice. We can’t wait for next year to come back bigger and better – 2027, watch out!
If you are interested in joining us for March 2027 and want more information about how to get involved, please email sbc@britishbeautycouncil.com. The Beauty Clean Up is an industry-wide campaign, and we encourage participation from brands, physical and online retailers, hair and beauty salons, service providers, packaging innovators and recycling specialists.
