The Growing Market For Anti-Pollution Beauty by Pretty Analytics

by | Jun 23, 2019

Air pollution, particularly in busy cities like London, is a major concern. Something that Mayor Sadiq Khan has been actively looking to improve. According to an article published by Wired in February 2018, London reached its legal air pollution limit just a month into the year. As horrifying as that sounds, it’s actually a major improvement from previous years where it only took a week. Whilst it’s a big topic of conversation in government, the beauty industry is also investing into research and development to help protect our skin and hair from the long terms effects of air pollution exposure.

Across the Asian market, a focus on anti-pollution skincare has been in the spotlight for a long time. Slowly, the European market is journeying toward that same goal – especially now with a greater consumer demand for protection against environmental aggressors. Green algae, lemon myrtle and Japanese camellia are being explored as key ingredients to protect in the fight against air pollution.

Below shows the growth in digital data points collected by Pretty Analytics on the topic of anti-pollution within beauty. It is most definitely the talk of the town.
