Facial cloths are particularly useful for removing thicker balm and oil cleansers, but are sometimes made from synthetic materials that can shed microplastics and are non-recyclable. It is sometimes the case that they are included as a free gift alongside a cleanser or other product, which may mean that the customer ends up with an abundance of unwanted cloths.
Consumers should be encouraged to invest in just a few 100% cotton or bamboo – sustainably sourced and preferably organic – facial clothes that can be washed with gentle, eco-friendly detergents and reused for years to come.
