Medal of the Order of the British Empire – Marian Newman BEM

by | Oct 10, 2020

It is no big surprise to hear us say what a huge honour it is for the British Beauty Council to work alongside Marian Newman, our esteemed Advisory Board Member and creator of Madge’s Chat Show.

Covid-19 hit us all hard and Marian worked day and night to support a rapidly growing group of dedicated nail technicians who simply overnight saw their work-life turned upside down. Not only does she support them professionally but also personally by bringing a varied group of professionals to daily live broadcasts to support in every aspect of Covid life, whether that be environmental health or mental health.

Marian consulted on the government taskforce and helped us throughout lockdown keeping everyone informed and up to date.

If you don’t Marian, you should so; here is a link to her BIO

Personally I think I spoke to Marian more than anyone else in the industry during lockdown, at some points it was a nightly call. She wrote our guidance for nail technicians that was the most viewed page on our website and she crashed our website repeatedly! She still owes me for that one…

For services to the beauty industry during Covid-19 Marian Newman has made the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2020 and been awarded a British Empire Medal, so well deserved Marian Newman BEM, the British Beauty Council salute you!
