British Beauty Council Advisory Board Member, Nail industry and education advocate, Marian Newman BEM, is behind the inception of The Federation of Nail Professionals (The FNP), a not for profit organisation with the primary focus of supporting and raising the standards of practice, education, knowledge and development for nail professionals across the UK.  Marian has the support of a passionate group of industry professionals from all corners of the sector.

Born out of Marian’s Facebook group, Madge’s Chat Show, The Federation became a project that has grown exponentially to fruition, gaining support from the British Beauty Council, the Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA) and British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC).

The Federation includes but is not limited to; students; newly qualified nail professionals; qualified nail professionals; educators; salon owners; brands; distribution partners.

The initial launch will welcome supporters to sign up free of charge to keep updated on any news from The Federation, with imminent opportunities for further involvement and a membership scheme to enrol in that will offer benefits and up to date resources for the nail industry at large.

The Federation recognises that there are exceptional educators and want to acknowledge this through their Licence to Teach initiative. They aim to raise the standard of education across the board, not just for students but for all levels of nail professionals, including educators. There will be a requirement for all members to actively continue their professional development alongside plans to introduce feedback and reviews which will be publicly available for Licence to Teach educators via a fair and quality-controlled platform.

The Federation are proud to be collaborating with the British Beauty Council, HABIA and BABTAC on several projects and providing representation for the nail industry at Government level.
