According to the ‘United Kingdom Social Commerce Market Databook’, the UK’s social commerce market is expected to grow by 26.6% annually, here’s how you can tap into the LIVE shopping landscape
Gone are the days of people heading solely to stores and websites to buy their favourite beauty products, now they expect brands to meet them where they scroll. They expect a two-tap experience that enables seamless shopping from live streams, carousels and video content.
TikTok Shop is just one of the social commerce solutions coming out on top these days, with 39% of people using TikTok videos as their main source of recommendations – just behind recommendations from friends and family.
A high performing, lucrative tool offered by TikTok Shop is its LIVE function which allows brands to sell their products seamlessly without consumers leaving the app. Last year, the number of daily LIVE shopping sessions in the UK has increased by over 64%, this means there are more than 5,000 LIVE shopping sessions on TikTok Shop every day.
For brands that have nailed the strategy, TikTok Shop can drive sales in ways traditional D2C couldn’t dream of. Back in 2024, Stormi Steele, founder of Canvas Beauty sold over $2 million worth of products in a Black Friday stream.
According to Business Insider, the brand ended up selling 100,000+ products and making $3 million in sales over the course of the day.
