The Wella Company has appointed iconic hair colourist, and British Beauty Council Director Josh Wood as the company’s Colour Visionary, reuniting him with Wella Professionals, one of the world’s leading professional colour brands.

The announcement marks the reunion of two industry icons: Wella Professionals, a leading colour house recognised for the highest commitment to technical precision, performance and a rich colour pallet; and Josh Wood, one of the world’s most prestigious hair artists whose genius creative colour skills have made him one of the most sought-after colourists in the world.

Josh Wood has over 30 years’ experience in creating colour whether that be in his world-leading London salon, on high-fashion catwalks, and in cutting-edge editorial and film. Since starting his early career as an assistant, then moving to Sassoon, Wella has been at the heart of every stage of his illustrious career. Always pushing industry boundaries, highlighting the role of the colourist has been one of Wood’s passion points.

As Wella Professionals Colour Visionary, and collaborating closely with Wella’s top global hair colour experts, Wood will contribute on the development of new colour and care technologies and services, supporting the innovation behind Wella’s world leading professional ‘sub-brands’ including Koleston Perfect, Color Touch,  Illumina Color and Blondor, amongst others.  Through innovation and education, Josh will also continue to bring together and connect many talented Wella hairdressers around the globe, boosting their creativity and further advancing the professional hair industry.

“I am honoured to return to the Wella Family at such a pivotal time in the brand’s history in a partnership that embodies precision, boldness and creativity, virtues that have always attracted me to this iconic brand. This is a homecoming for me and I am thrilled to be back in my new capacity as Wella Professionals’ Colour Visionary,” said Wood. “When you put the best products in the hands of the best creatives, that’s when magic happens.”

“We’re thrilled to have Josh back in the Wella family and we look forward to nurturing his vision and creativity. This collaboration will undoubtedly lead to cutting-edge innovation that will shape the future of professional colour, strengthening Wella Professionals’ leadership in our industry”

– Ariadne Oliveira, Global Vice President Wella Professionals.

Wood’s Colour Visionary appointment reconfirms Wella’s track record of attracting the most talented artists in the professional hairdressing industry. It demonstrates its commitment to constantly reevaluate and challenge conventional ways of product and service innovation, a value which has kept the Wella brand vital and thriving for more than 140 years strong.
