What is Future Talent?
The British Beauty Council is dedicated to ensuring clear and diverse beauty career pathways are promoted to young people. Through this work it aims to maintain a continuous flow of new talent into the sector which will maintain the UK beauty industry’s global reputation at the cutting edge of innovation.
In order to do so, the British Beauty Council works with various stakeholders to share a range of documentary-style films showcasing and demonstrating the enriching careers across the beauty and STEM sector.Â
The organisation also began collaborating with Speakers for Schools to offer online workshop sessions and workplace safaris.

The Future Talent Programme was launched in February 2023, with support from the Department for Education.Â
Previous Education Secretary Gillian Keegan said: ‘From hair products to skincare, the beauty industry is a huge part of our daily lives – but its importance is more than skin deep. The industry is worth billions to our economy and as the Future Talent Programme will demonstrate, offers a great route for young people to launch careers in science and technology.’

Spanning cosmetic science, fragrance, sustainability and technology, the highly anticipated Future Talent films are a key touchpoint for young people interested a career in beauty and STEM.
Featuring influential voices within beauty including Jamie Genevieve, Plastic Boy and The Welsh Twins, the short films are explore enriching careers while also engaging young people.

Speakers for Schools virtual work experience
The British Beauty Council works with leading social mobility charity Speakers for Schools to offer young people the opportunity to learn more about beauty careers via virtual workshops. Working with Patrons, students gain an insight into product formulation, marketing, packaging design and more.Â
