Hairdressing
Hair services are the largest single economic contributor to the UK economy from the personal care sector, accounting for 31% of the industry’s total direct impact to UK GDP.
This is in addition to being responsible for the largest share in consumer spending across personal care, with £6.3 billion spent by consumers in 2018 on hair services.
Purpose of the Hairdressing committee
The purpose of the Hairdressing committee is to:
- Represent the entire spectrum of the British hairdressing and barbering industry.
- Seek to influence the future of hairdressing in the UK.
- Help identify key issues for the British Beauty Council to tackle as part of its work with both Government and clients.
- Act on initiatives agreed by the British Beauty Council, in line with the Roadmap.
