British Beauty Council has read a fascinating report in Fashionista about how one beauty startup is taking advantage of bitcoin currency to get off the ground: Opu Labs is proposing to analyse your skin and pay you bitcoin – their own currency ‘opucoin’ to be precise – for the privilege.

They want to use facial recognition technology to connect beauty consumers with dermatologists and  beauty brands – so they would be a conduit between you and the most tailored skincare regime cryptocurrency can buy. You then use your opucoin to buy more advice and the circle is complete.
