Rita Ora named British Beauty Council global ambasador

by | Oct 22, 2024

Rita Ora, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and beauty entrepreneur, has been named as the British Beauty Council’s newest Global Ambassador. Together with the Council, Ora will support in raising the awareness of the British beauty industry

Appointed as the British Beauty Council’s new Global Ambassador, Rita Ora will collaborate with the organisation to spotlight its work future-proofing the sector. Ora assumes the role as the Council releases its initial findings from its campaign ‘A Beauty Industry That Looks Like You‘, an initiative that highlights the importance of representation and inclusion within industry.

Bringing a wealth of experience from the music, fashion and beauty industries, Ora’s influence will be invaluable for the amplification of this work and raising awareness of the Council’s work in bettering diversity and inclusion.

Earlier this year, Ora celebrated the launch of TYPEBEA, a performance-led haircare brand, with co-partner, Anna Lahey. Democratising the individuality of hair while supporting women wherever they are on their hair growth journey, TYPEBEA firmly establishes Ora as an authoritative voice with a powerful perspective.

Global Ambassador of the British Beauty Council, Rita Ora, said:

‘Beauty has always been a source of creativity throughout my career, and I feel fortunate to have worked with some of the most influential and talented professionals in the industry. I’ve long believed that beauty is intimately connected to self-expression and confidence, which inspired me to start my hair growth brand, TYPEBEA.

‘I’m proud to support the British Beauty Council in its mission to elevate the industry, celebrate individuality, and promote growth. Millie Kendall and her team are doing outstanding work, positioning British beauty as a creative powerhouse, a key economic contributor, a champion of diversity, and a source of well-being.’

On Rita Ora’s appointment as Global Ambassador, Millie Kendall OBE, CEO of the British Beauty Council, said:

‘I am proud to announce our collaboration with Rita Ora and look forward to working with her to champion and elevate the various initiatives of the British Beauty Council. Ora joins a host of existing Ambassadors who work closely with the organisation to celebrate, develop and support our industry. Her experience and influence will only further our progress in reaching our global goals.’

Ora joins an existing board of Ambassadors and Advisory Board members – including Sam Chapman, Wendy Rowe, Loretta De Feo and Melanie Grant – who drive the Council’s future roadmaps forward, to ensure the organisation is solving challenges facing the breadth of the industry.
