Black Skin Directory set to launch global education platform

by | Jan 31, 2022

Founded in 2018 by British Beauty Council Advisory Board Member, Aesthetician and Author, Dija Ayodele, the Black Skin Directory is an award-winning pioneering educational platform with a community driven mission to connect people of colour to skincare practitioners, share leading expertise through a web-based information bank and provide education to the professional skincare community.

The Black Skin Directory has announced the launch of its global skin of colour education platform on 1st March 2022 – training.blackskindirectory.com. Course registration opens on 1st February 2022, with an early bird course fee of £179 + VAT (normal price – £295 + VAT, applicable from 1st March 2022).

The interactive training platform will provide skin therapists and beauty professionals with enhanced and accredited knowledge about managing and treating skin of colour within their practice.

“Since its launch in February 2018, we have been aware of the distinct lack of education provided by the formal education sector around skin of colour and after two years of hosting sold out workshops we are thrilled to provide permanent online access to therapists and beauty professionals to further their knowledge, build their confidence and empower them to meet the needs of their skin of colour clients.”

– Dija Ayodele, Founder

Spanning thirty-three lessons, the learning programme will cover a wide breadth of subjects including the anatomy and physiology of skin of colour, managing common cosmetic concerns and cultural concerns. Additionally, the platform will host a library of educational articles and signpost resources to enhance learning.

“In my opinion it is a therapist’s responsibility to continually update themselves on a wide variety of treatments and services, and I am delighted to see the Black Skin Directory offering this highest level of quality training with such accessibility.”

– Millie Kendall OBE, CEO, Briitsh Beauty Council

In support of the Beauty Backed Trust, the Black Skin Directory will make a £10 donation for each course purchased.
