Black Beauty Unlocked 2021 is brought to you by GLAMOUR and the Black Skin Directory. For the second year, this series of events is dedicated to serving the haircare, skin, beauty and wellness needs of Black women.

Date: Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 September 2021

Tuesday 28 September

 

6.30pm – Segment 1: The Full Beat with IL MAKIAGE

Get the lowdown on how to slay your makeup and best enhance your dark skin in this IL MAKIAGE masterclass. Plus, discover the products to suit your complexion, from the pros who really understand undertones.

Hosted by Shei Mamona, featuring Miram Musa, Wendy Asumadu. Adeola Patrone and Adeola Boyega.

 

8pm – Segment 2: Our Health

A deep-dive into health, covering topics such as Black motherhood, therapy in the Black community, navigating cultural identity, code switching, sexual health and more.

Hosted by Tiwalola Ogunlesi, featuring Sincerely Oghosa, Dr Tosin Sotubo and Sarah Mulindwa.

 

Wednesday 29 September

 

6.30pm – Segment 1: The Black Skin Edit

We’ll be discussing all things skin health and care for Black skin, from the best glow-givers to SPF and tackling pigmentation to youth-boosting tweakments.

Hosted by Dija Ayodele, featuring La Beautyologist, Dr Ifeoma Ejikeme, Dr Ewoma Ukeleghe and Skn Perfect.

 

8pm – Segment 2: Coils & Curls with Aveda

From natural textures to braids and wigs, it’s the big hair conversation. We’ll be covering it all, from care and maintenance to protective styling and how to *actually* grow your hair.

Hosted By Winnie Awa, featuring Eleanore Richardson, Gina Knight, Subrina Kidd.

Tickets cost £15 per session. Ticket-holders can expect drinks on reception from 6.00pm and a goodie bag including full-size products from Aveda and IL MAKIAGE.

All ticket holders must present an NHS Covid Pass proving double vaccination OR a negative lateral flow test result registered within 48 hours of the event AND a valid ID. Download the NHS app via the App Store. More guidance can be found at NHS.uk.
