The British Beauty Council’s annual Value of Beauty report highlights the economic impact of the personal care industry as a major contributor to the UK economy. In 2025, the sector generated £28.3 billion and contributed £8.8 billion in tax revenues. Supporting more than 595,000 jobs, the sector spans hairdressing, beauty, wellness, aesthetics, manufacturing, retail and marketing, while remaining the largest business category on UK high streets.
