About:
Paving the way for female photographers in the 90’s – Liz Collins editorial career has led her to representing some of the world’s leading brands such as Miu Miu, Dior, Givenchy and Calvin Klein. Working with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Lauren Hutton, Edie Campbell and other industry greats – Liz Collins has directed short films and created sensational commissioned films.
Whether shooting fashion or beauty, Liz Collins likes to inject mischief and emotion into her photographs and it is this sensibility that makes her work instantly recognisable. The images are part representational of the exposure to the music, youth culture and political unease that dominated the streets of the second city of Birmingham in the 1980’s, where Collins attended art school.
Liz’s inherent inclusion and progressive attitude creates images that are compelling and storytelling. Liz now enjoys a varied editorial career and has contributed to The Gentlewoman, Vogue, LOVE, EXIT and Dazed.
Joined by writer, curator and Editor-in-Chief of The Gentlewoman Penny Martin, this candid talk will explore Collins’ journey. The peaks, the downfalls and all that has made her the successful creative she is today.
