Hair Equity
Beauty services should be accessible to all. The Council is working to ensure that hair services cater to all hair types via increased mandatory training and education in salons, film & television and more.
Hair Equity taskforce

Taskforce Lead: Antoinette Ale
Antoinette Ale is the Co-founder and CEO of Tressly, a pioneering platform empowering textured hairstylists through technology, education, and co-working salons. Under her leadership, Tressly is redefining how textured hair professionals grow their businesses — offering tools, space, and community designed specifically for their needs.
Prior to Tressly, Antoinette founded Haircrush, a leading textured haircare consultancy and community born out of her 12+ years of experience in the hair industry. Created to address the lack of inclusive and educational beauty content in the UK, Haircrush has collaborated with global brands such as Dyson and Pantene, championing innovation and representation for Black women in haircare.
Antoinette’s work has been recognised by publications including ELLE Magazine, Stylist and Women’s Health where she has been featured as a voice shaping the future of textured hair in the UK. She continues to be a trailblazer in creating spaces and solutions that elevate Black beauty professionals and redefine the industry from the ground up.
