Val Garland, Dominic Skinner, and a host of guest judges are returning for the sixth series of Glow Up, determined to find the makeup prodigy of tomorrow
BBC Three’s hit show is back with eight new contestants going head to head to impress the UK’s leading industry professionals.
The up and coming makeup artists will be put through their paces over the next two months, facing client briefs and industry presentations that will put their technique to the test.
British Beauty Council Advisory Board Members Val Garland and Dominic Skinner are set to resume their roles as head judges with the likes of Isamaya Ffrench, Mitchell Halliday, and Sarah Tanno making guest judge appearances.
As ever, the contestants all have varying degrees of experience and specialise in different areas of beauty. From special FX enthusiasts to counter connoisseurs, meet the contestants of Glow Up Season 6:
- Make-up hadn’t always been Connor’s dream career as he originally trained as a dancer. The 27-year-old, from Kent, finished his training then realised that a career in dance was not for him when his love for make-up began, and he began to pursue this as a career instead.
- Growing up Ella, aged 20, from Leicestershire, didn’t feel like she fit it in and felt like an outsider. When she started her degree in a creative environment at art and design college she started to open up and express herself with makeup.
- Finley is a 20-year-old philosophy & drama student from Dorset. Although Finley’s love for make-up began in his teens, he has been creative and artsy his whole life.
- George is a 27-year-old retail MUA from Birmingham. In just three years, George has been promoted from an amateur make-up artist in his hometown to now working as an assistant manager at Morphe.
- Jess is a 24-year-old social media assistant from London. Her motivation to want to be a make-up artist was down to her drive to create and collaborate in the artistic sense.
- Reem is a 22-year-old MUA and aesthetician from Birmingham. She studied Medical Biochemistry but now wants to make make-up her career.
- Rossi is a 21-year-old make-up and hair student from Surrey. He has been doing make-up professionally for six years. He loves the feeling that it can transform someone’s day.
- Shania has a true passion for make-up. She has built a community of over 100k followers on TikTok and it is her goal to help people when it comes to make-up and make it more accessible.
