Creator Collective comes to life at Skin School Education Day to tackle online misinformation

by | Mar 11, 2025

The British Beauty Council and No7 Beauty Company have been working together since 2022 to tackle misinformation online – now in its third year, the educational courses are open to all ensuring content creators and consumers remain clued up

Social media is becoming the world’s search engine, with more people making purchasing decisions based on the tips, advice and tricks from their favourite influencers. Beauty content is proliferating every platform, but how can brands and creators ensure they are sharing skincare information that is fact-checked?

Enter: The British Beauty Council X No7 Beauty Company Creator Collective, a first-of its kind education programme designed to educate influencers on the fundamentals of skincare. Now, in 2025, we are pleased to make the programme (also known as Skin School), open-source, meaning all brands and their content partners can benefit.

To celebrate the programme becoming fully accessible, influencers and content creators were invited to an inaugural Education Day, where debates and conversations were had around responsibility, fact checking and more. The Council was pleased to be joined by experts from No7 Beauty Company, Meta and the Committee of Advertising Practice.

At the event, Millie Kendall O.B.E, CEO of the British Beauty Council, said: ‘The importance of factual information when speaking about skin care is even more important these days as our feeds, boards, and for you pages are determined by algorithms that put your content in front of people who might not even know they needed it… That’s why we are so pleased to be collaborating with No7 Beauty Company on this initiative that will develop in line with the ever-evolving world of social media and “influencing”.’

Here’s what guests at the event had to say:
