COVID-19: London Borough of Bexley Special Treatment License Grant

by | Jan 27, 2021

The London Borough of Bexley Council has created a new category of financial support to assist those in the Borough who hold a Special Treatment Licence.

We understand that you need to continue to renew these licences and pay the annual fees, yet due to the current COVID-19 lockdown conditions you are unable to open your business, or provide close contact services to your customers.  In recognition of these unavoidable regulatory costs the Council will award each Special Treatment Licence holder a one-off non-refundable grant of £1,000. The grant is available to help you meet ongoing business costs during the coronavirus pandemic, including fees for necessary licenses. Applying for this grant does not stop you from applying for any other business grants.

In order to receive this grant:

  • You must have a valid Special Treatment Licence that has not expired
  • Your business must be based at an address in Bexley
  • Your business started no later than 19th December 2020
  • If you are a registered business, it should not be being wound up or in administration

If you’re a joint licence holder (i.e. two individuals are named on the licence), only one claim will be allowed for that licence.

In order to check eligibility and make payment to you we need to collect some information from you, via a secure online form.  The link to the form (including further guidance on information required) is here: https://www.bexley.gov.uk/services/special-treatment-grant.

They aim to email successful businesses with the outcome of your application within 14 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Please do not contact the London Borough of Bexley to check the progress of your application before then, as it will slow down their ability to award grants quickly.

Further information or evidence may be requested to verify your application at the assessment stage.
