The most popular beauty products in 2025, according to LOOKFANTASTIC buyers

by | Feb 24, 2025

In a report released last week, the team at LOOKFANTASTIC uncovered the most coveted products of 2024 and set benchmarks for 2025 – here’s what came out on top

Spanning fragrance, bodycare, skincare and cosmetics beauty retailer LOOKFANTASTIC has released its 2025 trend report. Pulling on sales and search data, the report predicts what’s set to be big this year and beyond.

Commenting exclusively to the British Beauty Council, Lillie Ellis, Buying Director at LOOKFANTASTIC said: ‘The 2025 beauty landscape is all about embracing individuality and playful self-expression.

She continues: ‘We’re seeing a convergence of data-driven insights revealing key trends like “Smelling Expensive”, “Undetectable Era 2.0”, and a renewed focus on science-backed skincare.

‘While trends offer a framework, the ultimate power lies with the consumer, who is curating their own ‘iconic’ routines with personalised twists.’

Wondering what all of these trends mean? Let’s dive into it:

Everyone’s set on vanilla scents

The top five fragrances sold on LOOKFANTASTIC last year were: Armani Sí, Yves Saint Laurent Libre, Prada Paradoxe, TOM FORD Oud Wood, Lancôme La Vie Est Belle – proving that customers have a growing penchant for vanilla-based scents.

With all five of these fragrances spanning the spectrum from light and fresh to rich and gourmand, it’s clear that you can do vanilla in whatever way suits your brand, people are still willing to splash.

What is ‘Undetectable Era 2.0’?

The retailer has coined a new trend which encompasses long lasting makeup that also delivers on skin-like finishes, great grooming and hybrid products – basically, people really want it all.

Off the back of the top ten cosmetic sales in 2024 including Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Clinique Black Honey Lipstick, NARS Radiant Concealer, and Drunk Elephant D Bronzi Bronzing Drops, it’s clear that beauty lovers are opting for luxury-end cult and heritage products that they know deliver with as little effort as possible.

This will carry through into 2025, with science-backed hybrid products starting to take centre stage.

Body care is levelling up

Everyone knows that consumers are becoming more and more educated on the world of skincare. Now, the new-found skin obsessives are turning their focus to bodycare. Enter: The INKEY List Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick and First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub, two top sellers last year.

People are beyond just moisturising after a bath, they want products that amp up their ‘everything showers’. Whether it’s a skincare-based gradual tan or an exfoliating body stick, body care is set to have an overhaul in 2025.

The report also covers haircare and deep dives into skincare, interested in finding out more? Read all of the predictions here
