What is the industry doing for you right now? Return to work measures

There has been a lot of media coverage over the past week speculating about the hair and beauty industry and when and how we return to work. To be clear there is no date, guidelines or specifics on this coming from government as of yet.

We must all consider that the time to go back to work is first and foremost when it is safe to do so. We need to plan well for this and the British Beauty Council are working with various industry body’s looking at guidelines that will be suitable across the board, this is quite challenging because a lot of our industry’s businesses require different measures.

Having said that we all take health and safety seriously and we are working with our Affiliate Board and Patron’s to agree measures that suit multiple sectors of the beauty industry as we plan to get back to work. Whether central Government will endorse a sector specific set of guidelines is unknown, but we as an industry need to adopt sensible safety and hygiene protocols whether mandated or not. Everyone counts and public health is most important.

Over the coming weeks we will publish clear guidelines for our members and followers and will ensure that these are practical. It is your job to maintain these safety protocols. Our industry is well regarded for its high standards in hygiene and safety and we must continue to excel in this area.
