M.A.C Launches in Boots

by | Jul 22, 2020

On Wednesday 22nd July, MAC announced that it would be launching on Boots online and in stores across the UK and Ireland.

From 29th July, the makeup company will be releasing an edit of its ultimate hero products, available to purchase online and in over 100 Boots UK and Ireland retail locations.

While Boots will initially stock an edit of MAC make-up, more products will become available from September through December, and customers will also be able to seek expert advice from fully trained artists.

MAC says it hopes the new partnership will invite new customers, make-up novices and make-up lovers to experiment with its products by making them more accessible.

“This is an exciting time for MAC, as a brand we have always set the industry standard and by joining forces with Boots we are making prestige cosmetics and artistry more accessible to high street shoppers,” said Fiona Sainty, vice president of MAC Cosmetics UK and Ireland.

Terry Barber, Director of make-up artistry at MAC, added that the partnership was a “natural step” for the beauty brand.
“Everybody shops at Boots! The idea that they now will carry some of the MAC legends, like Studio Fix, Strobe Cream or Fix+, is exciting. MAC is a people’s brand and through Boots, it’s now closer to the consumers who love it,” he said.

Joanna Rogers, Trading Director and VP of beauty at Boots UK, said the company is “so excited for MAC to join the Boots Beauty family”.
“As one of the leading premium make-up brands, offering such a diverse range of colours, formulas and textures, we’re pleased to be making yet another iconic brand more accessible for our customers to explore,” she said.

Annie Murphy, Senior Vice President,Global Chief Commercial Officer at Walgreen Boots Alliance echoed the sentiment:
“We’re really excited that MAC is joining us at Boots. It’s an iconic brand that proudly offers our customers the broad and diverse range of colours, formulas and textures they love.
“In our Boots stores, MAC will give make-up lovers another way to explore and experiment as they return to our beauty halls. Together we’ll also offer them cutting edge digital tools such as “Lip Shade Finder” to find their perfect match.”
