“Harrods’ mission to upgrade the way we shop for beauty knows no bounds. The heritage retailer’s latest plans? To open a new standalone store concept called H Beauty.
According to WWD which announced the news, the first H Beauty will open in April 2020 in Essex’s Lakeside shopping mall, while the second will open in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire in due course.
It is thought that the stores will stock high-end cosmetics, skincare and fragrances as well as offering beauty services, and have “coffee-to-cocktail bars”.
This comes after Harrods’ revamped Beauty Halls were revealed at the iconic flagship this year. Making new legacy as one of the largest beauty destinations in the world, the three-part, year-long refurbishment means the area devoted to all things beauty has increased by 53% within the store.
June saw the first hall open with make-up and fragrance brands, including the exclusive launch of Gucci makeup and an open ‘beauty play zone’. Phase two, which opened earlier this month, saw the skincare emporium come to life, with the super-luxe and the doctor brands, plus an ‘icons wall’ with brand pop-ups, and a space dedicated to vegan-natural products.
The final phase (coming in December), is all about the experiential; treatment spaces, masterclass rooms and a beauty concierge.
All this offers high hopes for H-Beauty. We’re expecting an emphasis education, exclusives and experiences that can’t fail to stand it apart from shopping online.”
