Diversity, equity, & inclusivity
At the British Beauty Council, we believe the beauty industry can and should be truly inclusive. There is work to do, but the sector is well positioned to become so. The industry spans all socio-economic groups, and you don’t need expensive qualifications to enter, making it accessible to many. Our aim is to amplify and celebrate the voices of all the communities the industry serves, and to ensure that each and every one of us feels seen, heard, valued and excited to engage with the beauty industry.
We are building on the conversations to date and hosting ‘town hall’ sessions with the community to agree areas where we can have the highest influence and impact: from championing more inclusive and holistic education at the grass roots and up, to creating mentorship opportunities, championing social mobility, and celebrating brands that are leading in this space, as well as the formation of the British Beauty Council’s DEI Committee.
