BABTAC Launch Inspiring Beauty Awards

by | Jan 31, 2021

The British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (BABTAC) have launched the Inspiring Beauty Awards, aimed at celebrating champions in the industry who have shown incredible positivity and vision through the pandemic crisis.

The past year has had a dire impact on beauty therapists and salon owners across the UK and while the vaccine has brought much needed hope, the situation currently remains critical and the impact this is having both financially and mentally on so many is devastating.

“The restrictions have had a devastating effect on our sector, which employs around 300,000 people in the UK. Life is incredibly tough for people working in beauty right now, so we’ve created these awards to applaud their strength and resilience in what has been an extremely difficult time.” – Lesley Blair, Chair of BABTAC

The Four Award Categories for Entries are:

Charity Champion – this category recognises those who have gone all out helping – either in their local communities or for any other charitable causes during the coronavirus pandemic (sponsored by SGI).

Best Business Pivot During Covid-19 Crisis – this award highlights those who have successfully changed their business direction during the virus pandemic to better their bottom line (sponsored by NAVY).

Industry Expert Supporting People Working In Beauty – this category highlights an industry expert who has excelled in revealing the plight of people working in the beauty sector and providing them with much-needed support (sponsored by Guinot).

Best Use of Communication and Social Media Throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic – this award honours those who despite the often last-minute closures of their business, have created innovative ways of communicating with their clients (sponsored by Balens).

The judging panel will comprise both internal and independent judges to ensure objectivity and BABTAC are absolutely delighted that Skincare Guru and Award winning Author, Caroline Hirons, has kindly agreed to take time out of her busy schedule to be a judge.

“We feel after a very difficult year, it’s only right to applaud the strength and hard work of so many and hope it helps to uplift and motivate our sector. We can’t wait to see the entries!” – Lesley Blair

The winner of each award category will be given a beautiful engraved trophy to proudly display in recognition of their hard work. The finalists will also be promoted on BABTAC’s social media channels, website and through regional press.

Entries must be in by 8th February 2021.
